Does anyone know of an alternative to commercial carpet cleaner fluid?

Question: I am looking for a non toxic replacement for the carpet cleaning fluid that I use in my steam cleaner. I have a Bissel steam machine but the cleaning fluid is so perfume-y and full of chemicals. Is there an all natural or at least non toxic alternative?

Answer: General "green" brands when talking about cleaning include Bon Ami, Seventh Generation, Bi-O-Kleen, Shaklee, Ecover, Earth Friendly (Ecos), Citra-Solv, Method, and Earth Choice/OdoBan.

Most of those brands have all purpose cleaners, but I'm not sure how

Washington Township Board of education goes paperless and welcomes Goldschmidt

They are also still looking into alternative energy sources and using nonviolent offenders who are sentenced to community service to clean up the schools. The offenders have been supervised, and given assignments by Parks and Works. The assignments have ranged from weeding, trash removal and cleaning up leaves. Shortly they will begin cleaning the buses.

Last week’s meeting also marked the first public meeting with the new superintendent of schools, Robert Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt was the superintendent of the Riverside Township School District previously. He is a long-time resident of Washington Township.

“I just want to thank the staff that met and worked with me,” Goldschmidt said. “This is my fifth day on the job.”

The board and the teachers union met, but there has been no movement on the contract negotiations. The board has hired a fact checker and hopes that, the next time the two parties meet, this will bring them closer to an agreement.
